Special Precautions for Brazil
Use common sense in choosing what to eat, especially when buying food from street vendors. No doubt you will be eager to sample local delicacies, but be a little suspicious of the juice vendor who extracts a glass from a tub of murky water to pour you some papaya juice. Do not drink water from the tap (or make ice cubes from tap water). Many people filter their own water. It is also unwise to eat salads or uncooked vegetables in most restaurants.
