About CCC Study Abroad Clearinghouse
CCC Study Abroad Clearinghouse:
Welcome to the Clearinghouse for California Community Colleges and Study Abroad (C4SA). The California Community Colleges Study Abroad Clearinghouse project creates and disseminates resources to support creation of community college study abroad programs at colleges without currently existing programs as well as resources for programs at colleges who wish to expand or augment current offerings. As an international education practitioner you will be able to find useful information about study abroad programs through a California Community College including information on program types, creation of programs, marketing and publicity for your campus, health safety and liability, credit transfer, diversity outreach, and much more. Sample forms and documents addressing these issues as used by previous California community college programs are available for reference. We have also listed all California Community College study abroad homepages in addition to private study abroad organizations who support community college study abroad so you can explore the variety of programs currently in use. In addition to these resources two organizations that are of particular importance are the California Colleges for International Education and the California Community Colleges Student Outcomes Abroad Research (CCC SOAR) project which examines the relationship between study abroad at the community college level and learning outcomes, retention, and success with a special focus on minority groups. More information on CCC SOAR can be found at http://globaled.us/cccsoar/ We invite you to search for information and use the resources found in the menu on the left.
About CCC Study Abroad Clearinghouse:
The California Community Colleges Study Abroad Clearinghouse Project creates and disseminates resources to support study abroad program development and implementation for colleges looking to create programs or expand programs they currently run. This is possible using a World Wide Web-based Clearinghouse format, enhancing collaboration among higher education institutions, government, and non-governmental organizations. It is funded through support by FIPSE (the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education) of the U.S. Department of Education. It is a part of the Center for Global Education.
